As imagens que compõem este ensaio buscam entrar no mundo-outro, o “mundo às avessas” da demência, em que o chinelo é o controle-remoto, o trator anda que nem casa, os alimentos da geladeira vão atacar, a natureza é vodka, a embalagem brilhante de biscoito vira uma borboleta, o macaco da novela vai invadir a sala e peixes nadam entre os pés na sala de espera de um hospital. As fotomontagens apresentadas são uma maneira de “levar a sério o pensamento nativo”, “pensar o pensamento do outro” (Viveiros de Castro 2002). Em uma doença em que a linguagem verbal vai se apagando, as imagens funcionam como dispositivos metodológicos e epistemológicos na busca por outras direções possíveis numa pesquisa que pretende fazer a travessia para o mundo de lá do espelho e encontrar outra realidade, imaginar outros cotidianos, subjetividades, modos de ser – e abrir os próprios referenciais, tanto de pesquisa quanto de vida.

The images that make up this essay attempt to enter the other world, the "upside-down world" of dementia, where the slipper is the remote control, the tractor walks like a house, the food in the fridge will attack, nature is vodka, the shiny biscuit wrapper turns into a butterfly, the soap opera monkey invades the room, and fish swim between your feet in a hospital waiting room. In this sense, the photomontages presented here are a way of "taking native thinking seriously", that is, "thinking the other's thinking", experimenting with it in order to expand our own (Viveiros de Castro, 2002). In an illness in which verbal language is erased, images function as both methodological and epistemological tools in the search for other possible directions in a research that intends to cross over to the world beyond the mirror and find another reality, with other rules, in order to design, imagine, experiment with other daily routines, subjectivities, ways of being – and to open up their own references, both in research and in life.
