Esta é uma resenha do último livro escrito pelo cineasta e crítico de cinema francês Jean-Louis Comolli, falecido na data de 19 de maio de 2022. O título original do livro, «En attendant les beaux jours», nos parece pleno de significado, já que o autor sabia no momento mesmo da sua escrita que sua morte estava próxima, mesmo assim, como fez ao longo de toda a sua vida ao escrever e ver filmes, tece comentários ao mesmo tempo estéticos e políticos, articula-os à sua própria trajetória de vida, e, enfim, situa-os no contexto da sociedade do espetáculo que, no momento atual, se reverbera na guerra entre Rússia e Ucrânia. Belo livro sobre não tanto assim belos dias de hoje.

This is a review of the last book written by the French filmmaker and film critic Jean-Louis Comolli, who passed away on May 19th, 2022. The original title, «En attendant les beaux jours», seems to be extremely meaningful, since the author knew, as he was writing it, that his passing was imminent. Still, he insists, as he did throughout his life, on writing and watching films, making comments that are both aesthetic and political, and articulating them to his own life trajectory. Finally, he situates his argument in the context of the society of the spectacle, presently reflected in the war between Russia and Ukraine. A beautiful book about the not so beautiful days of today.
