All who love mountains are incurable dreamers. Were it not so, a first encounter would suffice; there would be no quickening of the heart with anticipation, no yearning or planning, no catching sight of a bank of cumulus that changes before your eyes into the shape of a cherished snowpeak far off and calling... Dreamers are what we are, unashamed and unapologetic. As I say, incurable. But what value are dreams (especially the dreams of waking hours) unless they inspire action? Dreams need to...
