Jacob LANDAU, « Ali Kazancıgil, Ergun Özbudun, eds; Atatürk founder of a modern state, London, C. Hurst & Co., 1981 », Cahiers d’études sur la Méditerranée orientale et le monde turco-iranien, ID : 10.4000/cemoti.522
The year 1981 marked the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Mustafa Kemal. Numerous conferences were convened to discuss his manifold contributions to Turkey ; one of these, organized by UNESCO, has its proceedings presented in this volume, edited by Ergun Özbudun and Ali Kazancýgil, assisted by an equally distinguished panel of scholars from several countries. The book undoubtedly represents one of the best integrated collections of studies on Atatürk's rapid modernization of Turkey.
