Jan Cronin, « “What is’t that ails young Harry Gill?” Containers, Contents, and Composition in Janet Frame’s In The Memorial Room », Commonwealth Essays and Studies, ID : 10.4000/ces.5233
This article explores the apparent contests within, and the resulting controversy surrounding, Janet Frame’s posthumously published novel In the Memorial Room (2013). By focusing on issues of literary mode and the relationship between the various authorial interests and narrative constituencies of the text, this essay assesses both the novel’s contribution to existing understandings of Frame’s compositional processes and its place in Frame’s oeuvre.
