Résumé 0

In Amitav Ghosh’s The Shadow Lines, the narrator revisits his memories and oscillates between past and present, between secrets and revelations, so that the reader may feel that s/he is being taken on a dig. This paper will expose the layers in the writing by looking at it from the narrative point of view to expose how memories appear in strata, and how different voices are juxtaposed. It will also analyze other forms of textual stratification.
