Gérard Chandès, « Stations de radio confessionnelles », Communication, ID : 10.4000/communication.3826
The author seeks to identify the specific sound properties of Christian, and in particular Catholic, radio stations. He first presents an historical overview of the Vatican’s encyclicals and pastoral letters since the inauguration of Vatican Radio. He then follows with a brief section on the semiology of sound. Two key features account for establishing a relationship with divine transcendence : sound effects such as reverberation and a predilection for long broadcasting time spans.
