In this issue, Critique d’art chose to ask the young artist and poet Mathis Berchery to contribute an original work, created during his residency at the Archives de la critique d’art in 2021. By combining artworks and archives, his project LES YEUX RIVES arose from his discovery of documents, images and accounts of art critic Pierre Restany’s (1930-2003) 1978 journey to the banks of the Rio Negro, accompanied by Brazilian artists Frans Krajcberg (1921-2017), originally from Poland, and Serbia...
