O presente artigo confronta os argumentos do antigo debate em torno das diferenças entre os exemplares de Os Lusíadas identificados como tendo sido impressos por António Gonçalves em 1572. Apresenta o que levava a pensar que se tratava de correcções numa mesma edição a par do que fundamenta a tese de que muitos dos exemplares conhecidos foram efectivamente impressos mais de uma década depois, por Andres Lobato.

This paper addresses the arguments of the old debate about the differences between the copies of the Os Lusíadas, identified to have been printed by António Gonçalves in 1572. It features what led to think that they were copies of the same edition, in which corrections were inserted, facing the elements grounding the thesis that sustains that many of these copies were actually printed more than ten years later by Andres Lobato.
