Após a instauração da República em 1910, irrompe uma ideologia nacionalista refundadora de Portugal, no sentido de reveladora dos valores clássicos de Portugal, na qual se distinguem Teixeira de Pascoaes, lírico e providencialista, messiânico, e António Sardinha, monárquico, fundador do movimento do “Integralismo Lusitano”. Este artigo procura analisar estas duas orientações, pondo em evidência o respectivo contexto e intentando uma compreensão dos respectivos significados.

After the establishment of the Republic in 1910, arouses a nationalist ideology revealing the classical values of Portugal, in which two main paths must be distinguished: on one side, Teixeira de Pascoaes, lyrical and providentialistic, messianic, and, on the other, António Sardinha, monarchical, founder of the movement of “Lusitanian Integralism.” This paper aims at an analysis of such proposals, revealing the particular contexts of their emergence and the meaning of their conceptions.
