Il Psiup è un partito ancora da studiare. Ancor di più lo è il suo erede, il Pdup, nato dalla scelta di alcuni dirigenti, come Foa, Miniati, Ferraris, di rifiutare la confluenza nel Pci o nel Psi quando il Psiup, all’indomani della sconfitta elettorale del 1972, si sciolse. In questo contributo analizzeremo le vicende che porteranno alla nascita del Pdup, il suo incontro con il gruppo del Manifesto, anch’esso deluso dalla prova elettorale, e i primi passi verso la loro unificazione.

The Psiup is a party that still needs to be studied. Even more it is true for its heir, the Pdup, born from the choice of some executives, such as Foa, Miniati, Ferraris, to refuse the confluence in the Pci or Psi when Psiup dissolved, after its electoral defeat in 1972. In this contribution we will analyse the events that will bring to the rise of Pdup, its meeting with the Manifesto’s group – as much disappointed by its electoral performance – and the first steps towards their unification.
