Many Mongolists have encountered the “ovoo phenomenon” in the course of their research and fieldwork. This special issue of EMSCAT takes an interdisciplinary perspective on ovoos, with contributions from historians, anthropologists, environmental scientists, archeologists, Buddhologists, and art historians.
