Among the tools tried out to teach languages and learn reading and writing by telling stories in kindergardens and primary schools in the Aosta Valley, the kamishibaï occupies a special place. Born in Japan, the narrative technique associates pictures and orality, theatrality and creativity. The article aims to evaluate the tool and its applications in activities that promote plurilingualism and valorize the children’s family languages.
