Le rapport à la langue de jeunes « issus de l’immigration » : de l’identité à l’origine

Questa tesi tratta dell’incontro del soggetto con le lingue e particolarmente in un contesto socio-culturale segnato da una pluralità culturale e linguistica. Essa esplora il rapporto del soggetto nei confronti della/e lingua/e e più precisamente si interessa agli effetti della frequentazione delle lingue sulla costruzione identitaria. Essa tenta di mettere in luce quello che la lingua, il fatto di appropriarsene, di condividerla, di trasmetterla, mette in moto sul piano psichico e si estende sulle sue funzioni come eredità familiare arricchita sul piano culturale. Partendo dal legame stretto fra psiche e cultura e basandosi principalmente sulle proposte teoriche della psicanalisi, la presente ricerca affronta l’argomento nella sua singolarità secondo un metodo d’analisi clinica di interviste di ricerca. L’analisi delle interviste mostra che nella parola dei soggetti incontrati il rapporto con la lingua opera una legittimazione sociale e familiare. La lingua del paese da cui provengono i genitori appare come ‘lingua d’origine’ avente una funzione di ‘affiliazione’, permette di creare e quindi mantenere il legame con un’origine familiare. Tessendo i legami di filiazione in un movimento che incessantemente li ricrea, il rapporto con la ‘lingua d’origine’ si inscrive nella stirpe, affida un posto nell’ordine delle genealogie e permette un’apertura verso possibili altre filiazioni. Il rapporto con la lingua sorge così come una funzione che costituisce un aspetto ‘familiare’ in termini di continuità e fonda un’origine esterna al soggetto, ma centrale nella sua costruzione identitaria e nel sentimento d’appartenenza.

This doctoral dissertation focuses on the relationship between subject and language, particularly in the given socio-cultural context marked by cultural and linguistic plurality. It explores the link between the subject and language(s) and more precisely, the way languages border on identity construction. We try to clarify the notion of a language, its appropriation, sharing and transmission from the psychological point of view and its functions such as family heritage from the cultural point of view. The subjects are apprehended in their singularity according to the method of clinical analysis, taking the tight link between psyche and culture as its starting point and based mainly on the theory of psychoanalysis. The analysis of interviews shows that in the words of the studied subjects, the link with the language has an effect on social and family anchoring. The language of the country that the parents come from appears as the ‘language of origin’ having ‘affiliation’ as its function and enabling to create and maintain the link with the family’s origins. By establishing the kinship links in a movement that recreates them endlessly, the connection with ‘the language of origin’ that is part of the genealogy assigns a place in the lineage and opens upon other possible affiliations. Thus, the link with language appears as a function that constitutes ‘family’ in terms of continuity and forms an origin, external to the subject but central for his/her identity construction and sense of belonging.
