This article explores the links between "team" dynamics on boards of directors and organizational performance. Based on theoretical and empirical studies from several disciplines, it innovates by proposing a specific model of group thinking for boards of directors, focusing on the indicators of its presence, its determinants as well as its potential negative effects on individuals, the organization and society as a whole. Group thinking is a psycho-sociological bias that puts pressure on members of a group to seek consensus at all costs, to avoid dissension and the analysis of alternatives to the detriment of the efficiency, rationality and morality of their collective decisions. Research on the links proposed in the article will provide theoretical, empirical and practical contributions to corporate governance.
