En s’appuyant sur un fonds d’archives conservé à la bibliothèque Marguerite Durand (Paris), cet article retrace la constellation de femmes imaginée par Marguerite Durand en 1922 lors de l’exposition Femmes célèbres du XIXe siècle. Cet événement a pour ambition de relancer le journal féministe La Fronde et de créer un Club des femmes journalistes reprenant les statuts de la Maison des journalistes dont les femmes sont encore exclues ainsi qu’une Maison des œuvres et institutions féminines. Afin d’atteindre ce but, Marguerite Durand met à profit son large réseau. Elle propose une constellation féminine comme alternative au panthéon masculin pour déjouer certaines exclusions des savoirs dominants — tout en en recréant d’autres — et montrer l’importance des femmes dans l’histoire à une époque où leur accès au droit de vote est débattu au Sénat.

Based on a collection of archives kept at the Marguerite Durand Library (Paris), this article presents the constellation of women conceived by Marguerite Durand in 1922 for the exhibition Famous Women of the 19th Century. The aim of this event was to relaunch the feminist newspaper La Fronde and to create a Club of Women Journalists based on the statutes of the House of Journalists from which women were still excluded, as well as a House of Women’s Works and Institutions. To achieve this goal, Marguerite Durand relied on her extensive network. She created a female constellation as an alternative to the male pantheon in order to counteract some of the exclusions produced by dominant knowledge. In doing so, she also recreated other forms of knowledge that helped to show the importance of women in history at a time when their access to the right to vote was being debated in the Senate.
