Le roman de Rafael Chirbes En la orilla publié en 2013 a été salué par la presse comme le grand roman de la crise espagnole. L’étude s’attache à interroger cette formule en envisageant les réseaux diégétiques et métaphoriques dans lesquels s’insère le traitement de la crise. Elle proposera aussi une lecture du marais, espace central du roman, comme chronotope qui reflète et synthétise la structure réticulaire du roman tout en reliant ce dernier à la matière romanesque antérieure.

Rafael Chirbes's novel, En La Orilla, published in 2013 was hailed by the press as the central novel treating the Spanish crisis. Our study questions this formula by considering the diegetic and metaphoric networks to which the treatment of the crisis belongs. It also suggests a reading of the Marshlands, a central space within the novel, as chronotope wich synthesize the cross-linked structure of the novel while associating the latter to earlier Romanesque material.
