Le concept de champ littéraire permet de penser le fait littéraire comme un fait social sans renoncer à en saisir les spécificités, qui tiennent à l’autonomie conquise par les producteurs culturels dans certaines configurations socio-historiques. Cet article revient d’abord sur les principes de structuration du champ littéraires, entre pôles dominants et dominés, autonomes et hétéronomes. Il aborde ensuite les processus d’autonomisation du champ littéraire face aux contraintes politiques ou économiques, et la problématique des frontières géographiques de champ à la lumière des approches transnationales. Il s’achève sur une interrogation sur les limites de l’autonomie autour des débats sur les rapports entre morale de l’auteur et morale de l’œuvre.

The concept of the literary field makes possible to think of the literary fact as a social fact without giving up understanding its specificities, which derive from the autonomy conquered by cultural producers in certain socio-historical configurations. First, this article returns on the structuring principles of the literary field, between dominant and dominated, autonomous and heteronomous poles. Then, it discusses the processes of empowerment of the literary field in the face of political or economic constraints, and the issue of geographic boundaries of the field in the light of transnational approaches. It ends with a questioning of the limits of autonomy around the debates on the relationship between the author’s morality and the work’s morality.
