L’organisation spatiale à l’intérieur d’une exposition artistique contemporaine est le point de départ de nos interrogations. Dans certaines propositions artistiques, la perte de hiérarchisation spatiale et statutaire est rendue possible grâce à ou à cause du franchissement des confins et des interfaces qui naissent par conséquent. Il s’agit de la fusion de réalités diverses, de la fusion entre l’œuvre, l’espace d’exposition et le corps du spectateur ; cela donne vie à une exposition in situ où, parfois, la forme, l’identité et l’histoire même de l’espace interviennent dans le processus de création de l’exposition. Ainsi, les pièces qui composent ce type d’expositions ne sont que des expôts, des dispositifs, voire des interfaces qui donnent lieu à des réseaux, à des points de conjonction indispensables pour l’achèvement de l’exposition/œuvre. L’évocation de la Fondation Trussardi de Milan permet le développement de ces réflexions ; notamment, l’étude de deux propositions artistiques : Fault Lines, du couple d’artistes Allora & Calzadilla au Palais Cusani, en 2013, et l’exposition de Tino Sehgal à l’intérieur de la Galerie d’Art Moderne, en 2008. Les deux expositions exploitent le pouvoir de la performance comme un moyen de représentation conceptuelle. Le corps de l’acteur devient une sorte d’interface hybride et, simultanément, concrète, un dispositif de mise en relation qui joue le rôle d’adhésif entre l’espace d’exposition et le public. Il s’agit d’un entrecroisement spatial qui permet et demande une redéfinition de la terminologie contemporaine.
