La relación entre biógrafo y biografiado es central en la escritura de vidas. En este artículo, se propone un análisis del libro Opus Gelber, de Leila Guerriero, haciendo especial énfasis en una inflexión particular de esa relación: la que ocurre cuando el biógrafo pretende dar cuenta del encuentro cara a cara con su biografiado. La conversación, así, será aquí entendida no solo como una herramienta para la investigación biográfica, sino también como posibilidad de la escritura de vidas. En este sentido, se hace hincapié en cómo la palabra puede dar cuenta de las voces y los cuerpos que participan de la conversación y, también, en el tipo de conocimiento al que puede aspirar una escritura biográfica que hace de ella su principal interés y atractivo.

La relation entre le biographié et le biographiant est au cœur de l'écriture des vies. Dans cet article, nous proposons une analyse du livre Opus Gelber, de Leila Guerriero, en mettant l'accent sur une inflexion particulière de cette relation : celle qui se produit lorsque le biographe tente de rendre compte du face-à-face avec son biographié. La conversation sera donc comprise ici non seulement comme un outil de recherche biographique, mais aussi comme une possibilité d'écrire des vies. En ce sens, l'accent est mis sur la façon dont le mot peut rendre compte des voix et des corps qui participent à la conversation et, également, sur le type de connaissances auquel peut aspirer un écrit biographique qui en fait son principal intérêt et attrait.

The relationship between biographer and biographee is central in the writing of lives. In this article, an analysis of the book Opus Gelber, by Leila Guerriero, is proposed, with special emphasis on a particular inflection of this relationship: the one that occurs when the biographer tries to offer an account of face to face encounter with her biographee. The conversation, thus, will be understood here not only as a tool for biographical research but also as a possibility for the writing of lives. In this sense, special emphasis is placed on how the written word can be hold accountable for the voices and bodies that participate in a conversation and, also, in the type of knowledge to which a biographical writing that makes this its main interest and appeal might aim for.
