The Wall Colder than the reception coming home Stateside is this black granite to my touch. Colder than the corpses of all I nursed there who yet died. Colder than the fire of missies spit forth from mortars, AKs, rockets. Colder than the political terrorism that sent us there. Colder than the hearts of those who came home survivors of ‘Nam” and colder yet is the black granite reminder.
