El artículo analiza veinte documentos provenientes de fuentes fiscales y notariales de la ciudad de Valencia entre 1459 y 1505, que se refieren al transporte marítimo del alumbre. Comienza con el resumen de las principales características de las fuentes, tanto el denominado manifest de mar (una fuente aduanera sobre el comercio marítimo de importación), como el fondo de los protocolos de Jaume Salvador (que contienen contratos de fletamento de mercancías). Después detalla el contenido de las veinte noticias seleccionadas, desde dos puntos de vista: la participación en los negocios de grupos variados de operadores económicos y el desarrollo material de los transportes. El texto concluye con la hipótesis que, en Valencia, pudieron existir diversos modelos de mercados de materias primas, entre los cuales el del alumbre poseyó características específicas.

The article analyses twenty fiscal and notarial documents issued in the city of Valencia between 1459 and 1505, which refer to the maritime transport of alum. It begins by summarising the main characteristics of the sources, both the so-called manifest de mar (a customs source on maritime import trade) and the collection of records of the notary Jaume Salvador (which contains contracts for maritime transport). It then details the content of the twenty documents observed, from two points of view: the participation in the businesses of various groups of economic operators and the material development of transport. Ultimately, the article argues that different models of raw material markets could exist in Valencia, among which alum would have specific characteristics.
