Le istituzioni spagnole per la tutela delle donne a Napoli in epoca vicereale sono l’argomento di questo saggio che indaga, attraverso la concessione del privilegio dell’assistenza, le dinamiche della protezione identitaria nazionale e i canali di connessione tra il tessuto sociale della capitale del Regno e la comunità degli stranieri definiti “dominanti” in quanto rappresentanti della Corona e della potenza imperiale della monarchia degli Austrias. Al centro della ricerca sono soprattutto i ceti medi e l’impianto confraternale come fulcro laico della rete di connessione delle comunità che convivevano in un unico spazio urbano.

The Spanish institutions for the protection of women in Naples during the vice-royal age are the subject of this essay that investigates, through the granting of the privilege of assistance, the dynamics between national identity protection and the channels of connection between the social fabric of the capital of the Kingdom and the foreign community defined as "dominant" as consisting of representatives of the Crown and of the imperial power of the Austrias’ monarchy. The focus of the research are the middle classes and the confraternal system, secular fulcrum of the network of the communities that coexisted in a secular fulcrum of the connection network of the communities that coexisted in a connected urban space
