Simon du Bosc et Simon de Plumetot furent deux intellectuels normands qui s’intéressèrent au Grand Schisme d’Occident. Les recueils de textes qu’ils possédèrent en témoignent. Ils traversèrent pourtant le Grand Schisme de façons très différentes. Alors que l’un d’entre eux était abbé de Jumièges et qu’il participa activement aux instances qui menèrent à la résolution de la crise, l’autre oeuvra au Parlement de Paris et ne prit part à aucune assemblée ni à aucun concile. L’étude de leurs recueils portant sur le Grand Schisme nous permet de mieux comprendre la nature de leur intérêt pour ce sujet et de constater les liens qui les unissaient à d’autres clercs normands engagés dans les débats entourant la scission.

Simon du Bosc et Simon de Plumetot were Norman two intellectuals who were involved in the great schism of the west. The collection of texts that they possessed provide the proof. They approached the great schism, however, in very different ways. While one of them was an abbey of Jumièges who participated actively in actions that led to the resolution of the crisis, the other worked in the Parliament of Paris and did not take part in any assembly or council. The study of their anthologies on the great schism, however, allows us to better understand the nature of their interest in this subject and to discover the links that united them to other Norman clerics engaged in the debates surrounding the schism.
