Mr. Ambassador, Ladies and Gentlemen, as a member of the scientific advisory board it’s my pleasure to introduce this research programme that we have brought together to take our studies on the Channel Tunnel “under the Channel and beyond”. The programme, as you now know, is being led by our well-established railway history body, now reborn as Rails & histoire, and is being managed by Marie-Noëlle Polino and Laurent Bonnaud.
