Résumé
Roland Barthes ha sempre mantenuto un legame particolare con il teatro. Nel 1936, durante gli anni universitari, fonda con l’amico Jacques Veil il Gruppo di Teatro Antico della Sorbonne, mettendo in scena tragedie greche e latine ed esibendosi persino come attore ne I Persiani di Eschilo. Nel 1953 è uno dei principali animatori della rivista «Théâtre Populaire», che in quegli anni introduceva in Francia le innovazioni di Bertolt Brecht.
