Résumé 0

This article will contribute to elucidate the ambivalent Baudelaire’s relationship to Rousseau, which he never ceased to question the thought and to be confronted to it. It will find its starting point in the agreement of the two authors around the idea of a depraved mankind, then it will strive to re-evaluate the term of «nature», which is not always negatively considered in Baudelaire, and covers a deep reality in Rousseau, which his adversary will have misunderstood. It’s thanks to this recovery, during which will be mentioned the influence of Maistre and Ferrari, that will appear a search of life, shared by Baudelaire and Rousseau, and which is the fundamental research of poetry.
