Regio Parhalia. Genèse et administration d’un district domanial de la Syrie romaine

- Une étiquette de plomb inscrite en latin et actuellement conservée dans une collection privée libanaise apporte des informations inédites sur l’administration financière de la Syrie romaine. Sa publication permet de réviser un objet analogue et ouvre la voie à une étude sur la Paralie, circonscription du royaume séleucide dont les Romains ont repris le nom lorsqu’ils ont placé la regio Parhalia sous la responsabilité de procurateurs. La quête d’autres regiones syriennes invite aussi à reprendre la question de la formation et de la gestion des domaines impériaux au Proche-Orient sous le Haut-Empire.

- A lead label inscribed in Latin and currently in a private collection in Lebanon brings new information on the financial administration of Roman Syria. Its discovery leads to review a similar object and opens the way for a study on a district of the Seleucid kingdom, called Paralia, whose name was taken over by the Romans when they placed the regio Parhalia under the responsibility of procurators. The search for other Syrian regiones also provides an opportunity to consider anew the issue of the genesis and management of imperial estates in the Near East in the early Roman Empire.

خلاصة = قدمت بطاقة من الرصاص منقوشة باللغة اللاتينية، محفوظة حالياً في مجموعة لبنانية خاصة، معلومات لم يسبق نشرها حول الإدارة المالية لسورية الرومانية. يتيح نشرها إعادة النظر في قطعة مماثلة ويمهد الطريق لدراسة حول باراليا، وهي إحدى مقاطعات المملكة السلوقية التي استعاد الرومان اسمها من خلال وضع منطقة بارهاليا تحت مسؤولية ولاة. يدعونا البحث حول المناطق السورية الأخرى أيضاً إلى إعادة تناول مسألة تشكيل وإدارة الأملاك الإمبراطورية في الشرق الأدنى في ظل الإمبراطورية العليا.
