The text of Stephan Lehnstaedt here presents the latest elements of the historiography of the subject of Aktion Reinhardt: the regionalized studies, on the scale of the five former districts; the study of the rare but significant pictures, in the form of “albums” as for Treblinka and Sobibór, which belonged to the SS, and which give a glimpse of the elements of the internal arrangements; the archaeological discoveries on the sites of the three former extermination centres, which over the last twenty years have clarified the locations of the installations, and first and foremost the gas chambers.
