Résumé 0

This work, included within WP1 - DEMERSTEM, aims to establish the state of exploitation of the main stocks of coastal shrimp (Penaeus notialis) exploited in West Africa, from Mauritania to Guinea. This species is exploited both by artisanal fishing in the mouth areas and the various estuaries (Saint-Louis, Sine Saloum, Gambia, Casamance, Bijagos Islands) and industrial fishing at sea. Along the western continental shelf In Africa, three areas of importance for coastal shrimp fishing are distinguished, namely the Nouadhibou area (North Mauritania), the Saint-Louis area (South Mauritania and North Senegal) and Senegal southern area (Senegal, Gambia and Guinea Bissau).
