Colostrum intake, mortality within 3 days of birth and preweaning growth rate were recorded on 504 piglets, together with piglet characteristics at birth. A subset of 203 piglets was submitted to blood sampling at birth for physiological analyses. The dataset shows sow traits (parity, litter size…), farrowing traits (piglet birth order…) and piglet morphological and physiological traits, including plasma concentrations of hormones and metabolites. Used in the study by Quesnel et al (submitted)
