The Speer und Schmidt Buchdruckerei printing house was established on the 2nd of September 1921 and was initially located in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin, at Ritterstraße 22. Typesetters Otto Schmidt and Mendel Speer registered their open trading company in Berlin’s commercial register, each bringing 10,000 Marks to begin the business.
