Karagöz (‘Dark Eye’) (1908–1955) was one of the longest-lived and most successful Turkish satirical magazines. The magazine, which mainly dealt with domestic and foreign policy issues, was initially published twice a week and later once a week, with each issue running to four pages. It played an important role in communicating political content and shaping public perception.
