Résumé 0

Owing to its highly diverse physiographic and agro-climatic landscapes, and sustained immigration over a millennium, the North Eastern part of India is one of the richest rice biodiversity regions of the world. With the migrants from the West bringing indica varieties and those from the East japonica varieties, the cumulative outcome is a combination of both these genetic strains, many developed exclusively by specific tribes.
