Jeroen Derkinderen Lombeida is a PhD student at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Quito. After studying history and political science at the Université Libre of Brussels, he started a thesis on the history of Andeanism in Ecuador (1940 to 1980) under the supervision of Guillermo Bustos. What is Andeanism and why did you choose this subject for your PhD? The word “andinisme” does not exist in French.
