"Can anyone provide, or direct me to, the full name and hopefully dates of the abbe Tardy, who fled France for England about 1796 and while there compiled a popular French dictionary (1799 and several reprints) and a strangers’ guide to London (1800)? I find innumerable references to Tardy but never to his full name, and I’m unfamiliar with the French resources that undoubtedly would provide this information."
