By Mariana Ferrari Waligora, CONICET The holotypes of the fern-like fossils of the genus Glossopteris can be found in the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, in Paris. They were classified in 1828 by the French physician and naturalist Adolphe-Théodore Brongniart (1801-1876). In addition, Brongniart’s personal archive, kept in the Bibliothèque Centrale of the museum, contains many of his correspondence.
