This article focuses upon the issue of overeducation and undereducation on the labor market in terms of basic skills. Observing heterogeneity of basic skills by level of education, we suppose that these differences may explain the situations to overeducation or undereducation. Our research, using data from the "Information and Everyday Life" survey (2004), find that overeducation (undereducation) can result from a low (high) level of basic skills, especially in literacy and numeracy.
