Suchismita Chatterjee, Darjeeling, 2022 Darjeeling is a hill town in the Eastern Himalayas in West Bengal. Tea gardens, timber trade and eventually tourism have led to the growth of this hill station located at 2000m. The colonial imprint is visible on the city – from its architecture to the infrastructure and institutions established here in the 19th century.
