Résumé
Many strokes, both ischaemic and haemorrhagic, usually result in hemiplegia. According to the Spanish Stroke Federation, functional recovery is generally better in the first month after the event, less between the second and sixth months, and stabilises after the sixth month. The hand, due to its motor complexity, does not show such a satisfactory recovery.
