Une fois encore, la France surprend par ses élections. Si le Front national élimine du second tour le parti conservateur (Les Républicains), les électeurs ont fait émerger deux mouvements constitués hors des partis traditionnels – En Marche! et La France insoumise, qui mettent fin au Parti socialiste de François Mitterrand. Avant même l’accession au pouvoir d’Emmanuel Macron, tout indique que l’opinion publique jugera désormais le gouvernement sur leur capacité à faire de la relance du projet européen le moteur d’une requalification sociale et territoriale rapide. Les prochaines années verront se multiplier les expérimentations pour répondre à ce défi quelle que soit la majorité parlementaire.
