L’entretien suivant a été réalisé avec Michel Crozier en décembre 2003. Ce chercheur de renommée internationale a introduit en France la sociologie des organisations, un champ d’études qu’il a importé des États-Unis et auquel il a formé plusieurs générations d’étudiants. Il a fondé à Paris en 1966 le Centre de sociologie des organisations. N’ayant cessé depuis quarante ans de dénoncer les maux d’une société qui s’enfonce dans des croyances abstraites et de plaider pour un pragmatisme éclairé, Michel Crozier nous a livré sans ambages son sentiment sur l’évolution de la société française avec une réflexion sur les relations de pouvoir, le mal bureaucratique, la décentralisation ainsi que sur les travaux de la Convention européenne.

The following interview was made with Michel Crozier in December 2003. With a strong reputation in the academic world, he imported the sociology of organizations from the United States. He taught this field to numerous student generations. In 1966, he founded in Paris the Centre of sociology of organizations. Since forty years, he has been criticizing the irrelevant beliefs of the French society and has been calling for an enlightened pragmatism. Michel Crozier gave us his opinion on the evolution of French society with a focus on the relations of power, the bureaucratic illness, the decentralization as well as the work of the European Convention.
