This contribution aims to confront a category of contemporary analysis, intersectionality, to the implications of coloniality in the contemporary history of mainland Spain. Considering it as a conceptual metaphor, from metaphorology, this paper conceives intersectionality as a cognitive category that constructs new post-colonial representations of the history of Spanish citizenship, with a strong focus on the subjects that intersectional thinking conceptualizes. This task ends up neglecting the understanding of coloniality as a procedure that affects even the definition of the first entity that postulates intersectionality –the individual. Therefore, the text proposes, as a result of the post-colonial contributions of the history of Spanish and Hispanic law, to establish a dialogue between intersectionality, as a metaphor that produces knowledge, and a history of the colonial organization of Spanish citizenship in the 20th century.

Cette contribution vise à mettre une catégorie d’analyse contemporaine, l’intersectionnalité, à l’épreuve des enjeux de la colonialité dans l’histoire contemporaine de l’Espagne métropolitaine. En l’envisageant comme une métaphore conceptuelle, depuis la métaphorologie, la proposition conçoit l’intersectionnalité comme une catégorie cognitive qui construit de nouvelles représentations post-coloniales de l’histoire de la citoyenneté espagnole, en centrant son attention sur les sujets de la pensée intersectionnelle. Ce faisant, l’intersectionnalité néglige la colonialité comme procédure qui affecte jusqu’à la définition de l’unité première qu’elle postule – l’individualité. Le texte propose ainsi, à partir des apports post-coloniaux de l’histoire du droit espagnol et hispanique, de faire dialoguer l’intersectionnalité comme métaphore productrice de savoirs avec une histoire de la mise en ordre coloniale de la citoyenneté espagnole au XXe siècle.
