Résumé En

Journal de la Société des Océanistes (JSO) published the discussion between Rafal Wieczorek, Paul Horley and me about the strucrure of one of Rongorongo texts (text E). I used this opportunity to define the principal bases for structural analysis of Rapa Nui script in general, to outline the minimum criteria that should be met for any scholarly description of text structure, and finally, to emphasize the importance of proper structural analysis, which can be extremely useful for a potential deciphering. A substantial part of my contribution is dedicated to potential calendar-like structures in Esater Island script and to the analysis of the names for lunar nights in Polynesian languages. I showed that there are several unusual segments that feature many similar characteristics with the famous calendar inscription of tablet Mamari. In this article I published 20 more parallel fragments in Rongorongo.
