Ernest Hounhouayenou-Toffa, « Grammaire de l'entre-deux dans "The Famished Road" de Ben Okri », HAL-SHS : linguistique, ID : 10670/1.01pj5s
This article is a stylistic analysis of the concept of in-betweenness in “The Famished Road” byBen Okri. The main argument is that Okri’s style reflects both Azaro’s ambivalent psyche andthe inseparability between the real and the spiritual. Adopting a cognitive approach (Langacker 2008; Radden & Dirven 2007; Fauconnier 2007) and using precise quantitative analyses of some key recurring linguistic patterns, it was shown that the interweaving of reality with spirituality is linguistically marked.
