The report was commissioned by D . H . Barford and Co., on behalf of the J.K. Millard & Sons, in response to a brief set by the Archaeology Section of Cambridgeshire County Council. The project consists of a desk-top study of the known and potential archaeology of the area around Firs Farm, Caxton, a total of 3.65ha. The development is divided into three areas: Area A - Residential development. Area B - Conversion and rebuilding of farm buildings and landscaping. Area C - Demolition of buildings, conversions and landscaping
