Résumé
The ongoing Kaokoland Cascade Tufa Survey aims to identify and document all the tufaoccurrences in the Kunene Region of Northern Namibia. Documentation of the tufas represents apreliminary stage in the long term study of the deposits from palaeontological, archaeological,palaeoclimatic, geomorphological, taphonomic and biogeochemical perspectives. Twenty tufaoccurrences have already been described in Kaokoland (and seven in the Naukluft Mountains) and thisreport adds a further 9 examples in Kaokoland. It is clear from examination of satellite imagery that, inthe Kunene region, many more tufa deposits remain to be explored.
