Ethiopia is one of the countries in the world most affected by food insecurity. In 2011, the Global Hunger Index ranked it 77th out of 81 countries. In 2012, it stood number 100 out of 105 countries on the Global Food Security Index. Poverty and food insecurity obviously go hand-in-hand.
