Many attempts have been made (and continue to be made) to define and measure intelligence. In 1927, J.-M. Lahy proposed a test of “logical intelligence”, which he defined as “the common element in every explanation of intelligence”, in other words “spontaneous reasoning”. This test was one of the most widely used in French-speaking countries. Nevertheless, in 1913, it was subjected to a “critical study” by two members of the Saint-Georges College of Quebec. It is this study that is presented in this article.
