Alongside policies of oblivion (amnesia/amnesty) or the imposition of an official memory by the victors, a new memory paradigm for the exit from civil war appeared at the end of the 20th century. In a context where memory itself has become a social factor, a repertoire of public actions memorialising the war has developed in the name of human rights, in different parts of the world, to heal and pacify the social body.
